런던: Canary Wharf

안녕하세요

I have been meaning to do this post for a while, and now I have the chance to do it~
I went to Canary Wharf about two months ago with my friend.. ( this post is really late..)
Actually it's quite close to me, since I do live in London. Canary Wharf is also known as a CBD of London, which means a Central Business District.

Considering I do do Geography, and I have practically learnt about the history Canary Wharf and how it's gotten to where it is today, I thought I should tell you all
Some of you might find this boring.. but others might find this interesting

The London Docklands was really well known for its ports industries however this area went into decline after the 1960s as the ports seemed to diminish completely in the 1980s, this is because the ships grew in size and the channels were narrow for them.. including various other reasons. This lead to the London Docklands declining, and sub-urbanisation ( people moving from the city to the suburbs). The London Docklands became derelict, people became unemployed, there was a lot of crime, vandalism and many other things. The LDDC ( The London Docklands Development Co-operation) in 1981, were responsible for planning and re-developing the Docklands, thus the regeneration occurred, the businesses grew and now there are major business companies there such as HSBC, Barclays etc.
One of the other main aims of the regeneration was to implant more trees, so there is a combination of both urban and rural aspects in the city,  urban greening.

And now for my trip to Canary Wharf...

This was taken inside the bus stop

This river was quite large, on the other side were expensive restaurants and cafes

There was more construction going on, (left of the picture)

Can you see the reflection of a building on this that building?

This was one of my favourite areas, it had greenery and a lovely mini river and water fall. It was like a garden and there were many families having picnics on the grass, there was also a small photo shoot happening near here.

The fountain

The waterfalls

This is the entrance to the garden like place

Inside the shopping center

Inside the shopping Center

I am not quite sure what to call this, but whilst coming out of the shopping center, I saw this. It like a water play area.. it's a relaxing place to hang out

On each of these brick pillar like cubes and cuboids there were plantations of flowers and other plants

Climbing the staircase, I was happy to see these flowers

Actually I mostly just saw trees and grass there, but seeing these flowers made me happier

Behind the building there is more construction going on

There were silver barred barriers here (near the green trees area), so I could not take pictures
That day was tiring as me and my friend were trying to find a bus to take us home, as we traveled there by bus and not train, and the bus stop we initially went to was closed for our bus, as the route was diverted.. But after a long walk towards a hotel, we finally found the correct bus stop

Also the shops inside the Canary Wharf shopping center are really small.. smaller than I had expected.
ㅇㅅㅇ

Oh.. I didn't manage to take a picture of  "Canary Wharf" just the buildings in Canada Square.. ㅇㅅㅇ;

뿅~

Floral Haul

여러번 안녕하세요

I think you all probably know how much I love flowers and you would probably also guess that my wardrobe is filled with floral patterns. However I went shopping a few months ago(..this post is late..) and bought a few new items to add to my floral collection, Normally, I don't go shopping for clothes but these items were on sale so after a long think... I decided "yes", it's summer and I need some new clothes

Blush Tall Pleated Maxi Skirt...

Tall Pleated Maxi Skirt
Shop: Dorothy Perkins
Price: £16
Originally £26

I initially saw this maxi skirt in a Dorothy Perkins shop in my town, and a week later they had run out of sizes 8, 10, 12 and 14! That was so fast and so I went to 2 other Dorothy Perkins in different locations and they didn't have my size as well, therefore I bought a size 16 from my local Dorothy Perkins and my mother adjusted it for me.. and now it fits..^^

Floral Garden Top
( not too sure on the actual name..)

Floral Top
Shop: Oasis
Price: £15
Originally..unsure

I first saw this top when it was not on offer, I loved the print but I remember the price being quite expensive for me, since I am a student and I don't have a permanent income, thus I could not afford it. When I was looking online, I saw that the model wearing this top was wearing it much more fitted, however I got a large size in this for a few reasons;

  • I tried on a small size, which is my size and I felt like it was a tad bit uncomfortable
  • I thought the large size would be perfect for layering, with a lovely collared blouse underneath and this top on top
  • Also, I thought an oversized top would be much better

The material is like a thin sweater material and the arms are rolled

I am currently loving Oasis's new collections, it's floral, chic, slightly vintage and looks pretty~
